A portrait of my daughter’s best friend, who is a beautiful girl both inside and out. I wanted to crop in quite closely to celebrate her features. The close crop, monochrome treatment, and direct gaze create a powerful sense of presence. She has a quiet confidence in her expression - there's a softness, but also a remarkable strength.
