I took this photo on Lake Tambopata while everyone else was scanning the Amazon rainforest for birds and animals. What caught my attention wasn’t the wildlife at all, but the pale tree trunks contrasting against the deep green foliage and the patterns of the reflections on the water. While the tourists searched the canopy, I found myself watching them instead, drawn to the stillness and symmetry on the lake.
