When I first saw Wei she was fishing with her husband on a wharf, seated under a huge sun umbrella, which she'd skilfully roped to her chair, so it wouldn't fly off in the wind. I found Wei fascinating and immediately asked her permission if I could photograph her. I will forever cherish my happy encounter with Wei and her lovely spontaneous smile.
