Tania Marie May, A garden for the senses (PLACES 2026)
The scent of a rose bush keeping me company as I weed. The lovely sound of splashing as a raven has a bath in the fountain. The site of a gargling magpie resting in a large tree overlooking her garden on sunrise. The New Holland honeyeaters eagerly waiting for the taste of floral nectar and seeds to arrive after the harshness of winter. The touch of soft velvet leaves from the Verbascum as it rises out of the ground, reading itself to flower in the summer. Converting this photo to black and white, is quieter, defines the shapes and makes me mull over the story that unfolds here each day.
