Yi Cao, A Dreamy Boxing Scene (ANIMALS 2026)

Photographing animals with a mirror (reflex) lens is challenging because focusing must be done manually. Mirror lenses are not typically used for wildlife photography, but I tried using one to capture these two kangaroos fighting fiercely. The lens produced its characteristic donut-shaped bokeh and a soft, dreamy atmosphere, which added a touch of gentleness to an otherwise intense and aggressive scene.
